Neha is a genderqueer South Asian person. They are currently an Events Qrganizer for Qunify. Neha works to create and make new spaces for LGBTQIA+ folks to feel safe, visible, and comfortable. They are trying to make sure people all over Philadelphia have, and can find queer spaces in their own neighborhoods throughout the city. Neha also makes sure QTPoC are always in the forefront and keeps them in mind at every event held.
“In the documentary, I hope people see that there are queer south asians, that sexuality and gender identity is fluid, that you don’t need parental approval for your queerness to be valid, that representation is so deeply important for people all over, and to support, love, and be there for your friends as much as possible. To know that I’ve helped the south asian queer community, that one kid feels seen and can expand how they think about queerness. That south asian kids know to stand up against anti-blackness and work for a future for all our of black and brown trans and queer siblings.”
